Software

Jamovi

Jamovi is a free, point-and-click statistics program which is a great place to start if you're not ready to write code yet. Download it at jamovi.org/download.

R

R is a free programming language for statistics, which is a more flexible way to do analyses. Download R at cran.r-project.org, and I'd also recommend RStudio as the interface to write and run it in.

About the Author

Natalie Byrd was a B.S. Psychology & Honors student at St. John Fisher University that graduated in May 2025. She is passionate about research and statistics, and while preparing for her independent research she realized that a "one-stop-shop" was needed for reviewing core information about statistics methods & Jamovi statistical software. She is now a dual-title Psychology and Social Data Analytics PhD student at Penn State University.
